Connie designs puppets, wands, and workshops. She is a writer, speaker, and workshop leader. She likes to teach people how to access their own "magic" or imagination.Connie's puppets are unique, one-of-a-kind items. She will do custom work. Puppets can be made to look like a real person (somewhat more charachature than actual).Connie believes that puppets bring out the magic in everyone. No matter which side of the stage you are on.While ventriloquism is not dead, she has never found that not being one changes the experience for the audience. Because when the puppets speak, sing, dance or whatever they do, that's who is performing and the puppeteer becomes invisible. |

Spokesdog
I'm so cute, Connie Dunn, proprietor of Playful Roots, just had to use me as her spokesdog. I'm a very smart Chihuahua! I listen very carefully to everything anyone says around me...that's how I got so smart.
I'm not a big talker, but when I speak, you can be sure it is important!
Here's my story:
I was adopted by Connie. Before I came to live with her, I lived with people who weren't able to care for me. I was so thin when I came to live with her that you could see all the bumps in my spine. I'm not the greatest eater, but then, I don't have many teeth left. Many of them had to be removed...and I just had to have more removed.
Don't feel too sorry for me, though. I get to go just about everywhere with Connie. She carries me in a pouch. I shop with her. Let's see...I've been to the beach several times. Just for the record: I DON'T LIKE SAND! I've even gone with her to restarurants and flying and on trips. YEP! I'm a spoiled dog, I suppose! Gotta LOVE it!.
